orienteering 1:24:35 [3] 10.6 km (7:59 / km)

blue course at Georgia navigator cup. Went better then yesterday race went with fewer mistakes and faster running. Still went a bit slower then I would have wanted. Very fun though.
Route gadget here
http://gaorienteering.org/Local_Events/gadget/cgi-...

Quick route

Major mistakes
1-3 did not realize 1:15,000 made slowed down to early to look for control.
4- light green pushed me a bit to the right
4-8 lost some time through micro routes, but overall pretty good
9- From 8 I meant to take the trail to the spur and take that down to the control. Using hill top and big reentrant as marks on my way. Hit the reentrant next to the spur instead of the spur and went to far right. Did not realize and hit river way to far south. I never relocated probably and just went north along the ridge running in circles until I got there. lost lots of time.
10- good
11- like I said in the comment wanted to go fast after 9 so was carless. Oriented my map south and took off. Luckily when I hit the trail I realized where I was and relocated. Rest of leg was pretty good.
12- my brain was tired and reverted back to 1;10 scale not 1;15. This meant I exited trail before the marsh (not sure why I thought I had seen the giant marsh). Realized pretty quick though and corrected.
13-15- pretty good, think I took the wrong trail to 15 loosing me some time.
16-I did not realize how much time this cost me until I got my splits but leaving the powerlines a bit to early and having to fight through the green lost me almost a minute.
17-21 My legs were a little tired by this point and I knew I was not catching Aiden so I slowed down a good deal. These legs were fairly clean but lost some time due to uncerteness entering the control. For example going to 17 even though my line was good I still checked every little rise I saw just to make sure I did not miss it.

orienteering 1:04:23 [3] 6.8 km (9:28 / km)

red course at the Georgia navigator cup. Unfortunelty don't have a picture of the map to put here but there is a route gadget of it up here http://gaorienteering.org/Local_Events/gadget/cgi-...

The course was okay not great. As you can see in the route gadget the first half of the course was pretty bad but once I hit control seven I really started to speed up. Fun race though.

Full anylses

Leg one - pretty good felt confident and fast
2- this leg started good but then I decided to cut off some of the trail. I did this to test the green and also because I thought it save time. When I hit the second trail I was not paying to much attetion and was not sure where I was. This meant when I hit the re enterent I did not know where I was and lost lots of time running up and down it looking.
3- pretty clean over all lost a little time in going down the hill torwards the control but not much
4- again good, looking back may have gone up the wrong re entrant and lost some
5- Not much to say pretty simple leg.
6-I don't really know what happened here the first half of the leg was very clean and I was right on my line. Then I did something and just went the wrong way. Best guess I went around a tree and forgot to fix my compass and just continued. It took me a little while to reoriented loosing me more time.
7- The mistake I made here was a bad line and route after I left the trail. I did not really pay attention to the contours or cliffs after the trail. This meant that when I did make a bad compass I had no way of knowing until it was to late. Looking back my route was also bad because I should have stayed on the trail longer.
8- After seven I kind of change my mindset. I really tried to pick a good fast route I could take that I would not mess up on.This can be seen working in to my success in two ways. The first is that I made no big mistake after this point and the second is that my speed also increased.
9- Going to nine was very clean one of my best legs.
10- I did not mess up anything navigationaly but wondering if my route was the best choice.
11- again a good leg not much to say. Lost a bit of time fighting through the green at the end
12- fast leg, lost a bit of time right before the control due to not knowing presicely where it was
13- I got off my line alittle here because I saw another control and went oo whats that.
14- good
finish - by far the hardest leg running along the marked route was very challenging was not sure if I could do it.

running 20:08 [3]

Warm up can cool down

running 20:00 [3]

1:20 by 12 with 40 seconds rest.
I tried to do a 400 in each interval.
This was a fairly painful work out. I was really hurting throughout and had very little motivation to put in work. Even with that I still managed to come pretty close to getting a four hundred in the amount of time. I never missed it by more then about 10 meters. My main problem with this workout was I was not timing it, someone else was. This meant my rests were too long and I am not positive I did 12. Besides that and the pain the workout went fine
