the final four races of the Boston sprint camp. We did some confusing relay format where the first race was a qualifier and then you got placed in heats which you moved up in if you won a race or came in second. These heats were massed start so in the first round the times are much slower because I was not racing against that many top competitors and only had to be in the top two. For the qualifier I came in second putting me in the second bracket with like the 5, 9, 13, 17th place runners (maybe). Moved up to the first bracket after that. Had some really tight races with AJ, Peter, Phillipe and Victor but managed to stay in the top heat for round two and win the whole thing in the final round.

all in all I was very happy with my performance at sprint camp and had a ton of fun.

warm up and cool down for races

orienteering 45:00 [3] 5.5 km (8:11 / km)

Two trainings.
The first was a review of the sprint laws. This went pretty good, but was also taking it quite slow as more of a warm up. The woods very thick which is why I rarely cut through the forest.

The second training was about not getting distracted by other runners. The training consisted of AJ, Peter, Ethan and I all doing a mass start on two different forked legs. We then switched maps at each start. I did very poorly on this. I don't know if I just couldn't read the little trails or the other runners in the relay were distracting me either way it went badly.

the third race. This race was a three leg one man relay with a six person mass start. The races was very hectic and I thought I did fairly well.

running 32:13 [3] 4.36 mi (7:23 / mi)

Started running with my track team again to get in summer training. It was so much more fun and enjoyable to be running with a group again. We took it easy the first day because we were all at various different levels of fitness.

running 27:00 [3] 3.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

orienteering 50:50 [3] 2.9 mi (17:32 / mi)

Forest training with Siri and Julia. The technical side of the training went well but the forest was very thick and I was waring shorts both of which made the speed fairly slow.

orienteering 18:34 [3] 2.0 km (9:17 / km)

CSU park race.
