Orienteering 38:21 [4] 6.1 km (6:17 / km)
ahr:172 max:194 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Star Relay on the Model map. Olly set the course and went out and found some random stand from the Aus Champs. I was with Bridget, it was pretty cool to be running in the rain, its so nice. The area was pretty quick and some of the places were pretty tricky. I decided to be smart and run along the top of a spur, and couldn't see it because it was on the ground, so I over ran it by about 50m.

Orienteering 1:10:05 [4] 10.85 km (6:28 / km)
ahr:175 max:195 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Orienteering Intervals. Did a 800m hard pace interval then ran into an intricate watercourse system. Some of the controls were less than 5m apart so you needed to read the map and get the exact centre and feature. We didn't have controls descriptions and it made it hard, running 80% pace into some hard intricate gullys. I ended up doing 5 of the courses. I would of liked to have done all 8 but I got 2 blisters on my foot because my sock was to low. Was a good exercise.

Orienteering 40:51 [2] 5.15 km (7:56 / km)
ahr:145 max:171 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Relocation Exercise on the Aus schools relay map. Got all the relocations one right. Just took it easy for the first half and then started to forget about my blister. Navigation wasn't to hard.

Orienteering 48:14 [3] 6.5 km (7:25 / km)
ahr:178 max:199 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Control Picking on the Australian Schools Map.

Was pretty cool running the same map as where schools was. Every still looks the same out there. Had alot of trouble finding the streamers out there as they were usually white or light yellow and they mixed in with the leaves because it was raining. Other than that it was great. Was taking it easy. Would of wasted atleast 5 - 10 minutes looking for streamers at 38 different controls :/

Note

Been doing a fair bit of riding lately, just can't be bothered logging it.

Running 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13

Just went out early and did a morning run. Probably shouldn't of had breakfast 5 minutes before I left but it was kind of a spur of the moment run. Did the cutting loop, not sure of time or distance.

Orienteering race (Middle Distance-Duntroon) 38:45 [2] 3.8 km (10:12 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Well what can I say. Stuffed up nearly every control in the open and did alright in the bush. The forest was nice but unfortunately the majority of the course was set through open cattle/sheep farming land with scattered boulders and cliffs. Wanted to win the finish split :(.

Orienteering race (Oceania Long-Craigieburn) 51:08 [3] 4.7 km (10:53 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Was really hard running in the grass and up the hills. Just really tiring. So even though the terrain was mostly open times were slow as the running was so tiring. Stuffed up no. 5, 6, 7, 12, 14, 15.

Orienteering race (Kairaki Beach - Relay) 30:00 [3] 2.9 km (10:21 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Took it really easy today. Just making sure I knew where I was the whole time. As the course went on I noticed that I was finding them pretty easy so decided to pick up the pace abit. Completly stuffed up the next control. Just thought a depression was another. Lost about 3-4 minutes. Then on no. 11 I went to wide lost about 1:30 there. Then on the 2nd last control I lost atleast a minute. Was a cool map and really nice running though.

Orienteering race (Lincoln University) 13:01 [4] 2.2 km (5:55 / km)
shoes: Brooks T3

Sprint

Wasn't to bad. Was just running slow. A few hesitations, and bad route choices.

Orienteering race (Caanan Downs) 56:50 [2] 7.85 km (7:14 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

The course was quite boring until we got into the forest. It was so nice, forgot I was orienteering. Quite epic for a course that was only meant to be 4.8km.

Running 25:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Up a mt between Nelson and Christchurch on the inland rd with Laurina and Bryan. Got a nice view at the top and the forest was amazing, so nice to run through.
