shoes: Asics GT-1000 5 (heavies)

Nice steady run with the Hareys. St Johns, Lammas, Trumpington, Grantchester, Home. Carelessly paused garmin so extrapolating distance from time and pace of what I did record. Nice to be pushed a bit on a run in a way I just can't do solo, similar style of run to Wednesdays with Fred - but never gonna be the same :'(

Forest-O race 31:07 [5] 6.1 km (5:06 / km) +200m 4:23 / km
shoes: VJ Bold 8 (dobbs)

JHI Relays

Too much England confidence around the start pen. None of that thanks. Clean through first 4, caught AT, held on to the spec then sent him homewards tae think again. Had a great time trying to lose it on the run-in coming out in totally the wrong direction and probably only saw the finish cos it was a bit loud.

Brutal scramble up the hill but just about got the job done.

Good effort Mr Musgrave and well gooched goochy.

Forest-O race 1:03:18 [4] 8.7 km (7:17 / km) +410m 5:53 / km
shoes: VJ Bold 8 (dobbs)

JHI Individual

Went off cautious, and tried to stay that way. Frustrating to lose time on the long leg to 3 having stayed in map contact almost to the control, stood on a huge boulder on the control circle and never seen it on the map. Eventually figured it out, overtook 4 and 8 minute men, then up into the cloud. Crazy low-vis, and great fun, small miss on the high long leg dropping too low. Low confidence on the low long leg as lost map contact, but the path was a much bigger catching feature than expected.

Was ahead of Tom (in 3rd) on the last control before the rapid downhill section at the end, but he had more legs/willpower/bravery so settled for 4th by 11 seconds :(. Not a bad race, but many places I should've pushed harder, and had I not messed up early on I couldve won it. That said, everyone in the top 6 or 7 could've won without "their big mistake"

Tempo progression on the fresher's fun run route with the Haries. Low turnout but some seriously good guys claiming not to be the seriously good guys... gulp. At least running exists here I guess. Felt really good though, and pace was about where I'd expect, rest up tomorrow then JHIs

Just a little spin around North Cambridge. Started out trying to do a session on parkers piece but was busy and solo and still taking down freshers fair so just bailed out. Then thought it'd be fun to check out Girton but didn't really know where it was, had a fun time on a hill with at least 5m elevation on the other side of the river, then came home.
