Running race 1:29:07 [4] 9.3 km (9:35 / km) +480m 7:37 / km
shoes: VJ Bold 8

WUP
Rusland Beeches Middle Distance

Great course, really enjoyed the technical challenge and so so good to get back out racing with a map again. All went a bit wrong at 10 though... fell off a small crag and smashed the knee into an opposing crag. So much for all that stability work :p.

Sat down for a while, and walked three legs before I could muster a hobbly-jog, and slowly improved towards the finish, where it promptly seized up again. Gave both DNS and DNF a really good shot so pretty pleased to have come away with a result comprised of numbers.

Running 41:05 [3] 9.3 km (4:25 / km) +190m 4:00 / km
shoes: Asics Gel-DS 22

Meant to be recovery but got a bit quick - bit pushed for time and had the flats out because I'm done with the heavies.

Saw the otter's head and some dives, but didn't hang about for too long. Decent afternoon out

Note
(rest day)

Stayed up to watch two senile men shout at each other incoherently. Legs and brain tell me today's for resting - no harm since I didn't take Monday off in the end.

Another really good group sesh with EUHH, shame it's the last one for now.

2 * (4 * 4' [1' float]) [1']
Reps @ 3:23-49, floats @ 4:00-14 - both getting slower throughout oops.

Meant to be 8 * 4, but figured a shortcut & full recovery at the halfway mark might give me a chance to stay with the pack (and shake the stitch), which half worked. Happy to have ground it out.

Strava rewarded me with a second 'best estimated 10k' in as many sessions. Not sure that's accurate but if it is, probably means I need to do some less tempo-y sessions.

Running 45:08 [2] 8.9 km (5:04 / km) +230m 4:29 / km
shoes: Asics GT 1000 8

Meant to be a rest day but Paul's not in town forever so went for a nice easy b+b. Good to have done it, actually, because the knee niggle wasn't there, so can session with a bit more confidence tomorrow.
