POM Stage 4
Started off in the chase with James but we took different routes to 1 and I just completely screwed it. Terrible direction and picture and was wondering around a lot. Same again with 2. By this point the mass start train had gone and so had the head. Carried on but to 4 the body was feeling very fatigued. Did both the butterfly loops but when I was heading to 12 the legs were going at cruising pace so decided probably best not to kill myself round the whole course. Picked it up again at 17 and worked my way back to the finish. Didn’t enjoy retiring at all but the right decision I think.

In terms of my immediate thoughts on the camp they’re mostly positive. Well run and fun camp/ racing and I enjoyed it a lot. Lots of good nav but also lots of poor which mostly stemmed from tiredness/ laziness. Had expected some better fitness but the base felt good just when I go hard can’t sustain it well enough. Things to think about on.

POM Stage 3-68th
1,2,3 were really good then 4 thought I hadn't gone far enough but corrected quickly enough. 5 good. 6 good.Then it started to go downward. First warning sign as I crossed the fence mid leg to 7 thought I was going to 6 so stopped at a control in the rocks. Then proceeded to not read the circle and just hope I would find the right rock. 8 sloppy on route didn't execute the plan. 9 the same no execution of what I planned and too far right. 10 again not reading the circle too far right. 11 good. 12 didn't read the circle faffed. 13 the wheels fell off and turned left out the reentrant too early more faffing. 14 turned left instead of right at the circle. Caught and dropped by the Ukr and James, legs completely gone. Rest of the nav was fine but just slow.

Really annoying as these mistakes were so preventable with a bit more attention and then maybe a good result but yeah more learning and another big one tomorrow.
