33, 35, 45 (Running on trail beside top of culvert, branch pushed me mid stride on to culvert ledge. Landing on weak knee, I saw myself in slowmo, tumbling 4 metres down to concrete. Angels kept me atop culvert), 57, 58 (If I read map, I would have done 58 en route to 57), 50, 53, 46, 52, 54, 55, 40, 56, 41, 36, 49, 47, 34, 31

This was my first time on Frank Ryan map where regular training takes place. I still love street-O.

I was much too rushed getting to the event and then I had trouble seeing anything on the map, even with glasses.

31, 32, 34, 33, 35, 37, 36, 38, 39...I couldn't find 40...41, 43, 45 gave me so much trouble that I decided to go no further, 43 (yes, for the second time), 44, 42 and even though time had already expired, I went all the way back to fail again at 40.

I should have done 21 controls but I was totally stumped by control 14 (31) so I gave up. I doubt that I would have done the whole 8.8k map under 3 hours considering the humidex of 36. This was great training for the Boilermaker, lots of running.

After review, I now know I was on a totally different trail seeking 31. I never would have found it. Can I blame more that two hours in the heat.

I was pleased with the effort through very wet terrain and too much poison ivy. I did not want to fall flat on this map.

I have just purchased my 7th pair of NB 610s. I suspect that it will be my final pair of 610s. The first pair and the sixth pair failed to last a minumum distance before toenail tore the fabric.
