Knee and ankle pain overwhelmed any endorphins, so the -31 windchill and snow and ice convince me to rest up for Saturday's race. After 3 more pills, I finished a regimen of COLD-fX (for the first time). I am not impressed. After completing the regimen, I have a sore throat and runny nose.

all on ice & snow
Endorphins never did mask knee pain with each left stride and after 4k right ankle complaints were stronger than left knee complaints, I packed it in. I sure made the right decision not to race in the Adirondacks tonight.

Rideau Trail kilometres 183.9-185.4

After already investing over 22 hours on my snowshoes this winter, I finally got to the snow on the Rideau Trail. Got out of my sick bed to take jd to school and I kept on going. Parked at the Port Elmsley Drive-In and I ran alongside Port Elmsley Road to Beveridge Locks Road and back again. Portions of the route have been changed for the 2006 guidebook but I have not yet seen the changes.
