Greens Creek (June 2003)

This was the first off trail test for my new Atlas 1025s. I used an old score-O map, so old that the geographic features which were marked by controls #9 and #22 no longer exist because of the construction of the Superdome Sports Centre. The line of trees at control #15 have long since died. Trees are still taped at controls 11-13.

With the HRM test, I now know that this machine should not be expected to replace a regular workout.

Stony Swamp P7

My darling & I began our snowshoeing from National Capital Commission parking lot P7, headed north in to the wind along trail #25. At sunset, we turned back, 500m short of a segment that we had completed together back in January 2005. By the time we were done Sunday, the windchill had dropped to -24.
