The snow cover on the nordic trail was not as good as at first glance, maybe a little over half of the route was covered with snow: too little snow for snowshoeing and too much snow for orienteering.

I've decided to retire my Dual-Tracs to Dildo. Leaving my snowshoes here forces me to return here or to replace the shoes. Besides, that frees up needed space in my suitcase.

Walking seems to be the worst activity for knee pain. Perhaps there are too few distractions and/or too few endorphins.

When I left Dildo, it was bright and sunny. On the map, it was too cold and too wet. The park gate was locked and I parked on the TCH on-ramp. I think only moose can walk through the wooded walkable on Newfoundland maps. When I got to the nordic trails I found lots of snow. Hopefully, I'll head back later with snowshoes.

The nordic trails are long gone but snow cover on the road to the first 51 camp sites was good.

There's also snow in Terra Nova and at White Hills.
