If I could magically exclude control #1, this was a well run race.

Running 35:00 [3] 5.0 km (7:00 / km)

I wanted the knee ready for the sprint. The knee held together but the brain did not.

By control #11, my legs were turning over but my brain was not. Running at too great a speed, blurring the red lines, I headed from #11 to #4 (but didn't punch, catching my mistake - sort of) then headed for #13 (oops) then remembered #12 just before I hit woods. Even so, within the age group I lost lots of time but only one placing.

Even with twice visiting #5 and blowing right by #7, I still made goal of sub 10min/k. I did a nice face plant going over land from #2 to #4. It's time to rest the knee for the national team trials.

The controls are gone. The trilliums are back.

From 8, I mistakenly headed for 17 (but went straight there).
