Snowshoeing 32:40 [3] 3.67 km (8:54 / km)
shoes: Atlas 1025

I would have preferred to race the Mad Trapper but this is the best my schedule would allow. Hey, I got to snowshoe all this right from my back yard.

Thursday Dec 9, 2010 #

geocaching 18:00 [3] 1.7 km (10:35 / km)
shoes: Columbia Trail Meister IV

Even in the -20 windchill, Ziggy needed his run, GC2JR0D.

canicross warm up/down 7:00 [3] 0.7 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Columbia Trail Meister IV

Z seems to be struggling with his hindquarters. I hope it's nothing but I'm logging it here in case we need to know when it started.

The forecast shows strong winds through the weekend. I've decided to bring the time trial indoors even though it's so much less valid.

Running race 15:15 [5] 3.0 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus+ 26 GTX

Monday Dec 6, 2010 #

geocaching 10:00 [3] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Sorel Caribou

With 40kph winds there wasn't much point to using the 400m track for the time trial. Now I'll also have to deal with snow cover.

Sunday Dec 5, 2010 #

canicross 6:00 [3] 0.6 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Columbia Trail Meister IV

3 PM

Running warm up/down 6:40 [3] 0.9 km (7:24 / km)
shoes: New Balance MT572

The nearest high school track is actually closer than from my old house.

Because we went to church for the first time in forever, I missed out on the relatively nearby OOC long run training.
4 PM

Running race 8:49 [5] 1.0 mi (8:49 / mi)
shoes: New Balance MT572

I made my first attempt at the 3000m but the splits just got worse and worse so I packed it in, hopefully saving something for other attempts: 1:02, 2:08; 2:10; 2:14 and 1:14. Only the first 200m were at pace.

I didn't have a warm-up as I had tried to measure the distance from home to track. The snowfall was so great that the GPSr didn't grab any satellites before I arrived at the track. Windchill was -9 but that wasn't an issue. The wind itself at 15kph and patches of slippy ice on the track did have an impact on speed...but not on the slowing pace, that's just me.
