Event: Qld Orienteering champs

orienteering race 37:02 [4]*** 3.9 km (9:30 / km)
spiked:5/8c shoes: jalas flx
qld champs middle distance, the winner of this race was the person who found the 5th control by fluke. i came 2nd, finding it by a fluke on the 2nd attempt. some werent so lucky. It was definatly in the wrong spot, as my bearing to 6 suggested that i from 5 go straight over the top of the hill,. my compass said go right over the otherside of the hill.
C • so true, i was last at no.3 :(... 1

just a little run to warm up my legs for tomorrow. did some sprints in there too
did 3x200m in 50, 47, 41
cycle 15:00 [2]3 km (5:00 / km)
since it was raining and puddly i thought this was the best oppurtunity to clean my bike the lazy way,.. it was a good theory but it just ended up making the bike worse along with spraying dirt all up my backside

run (gap creek west trail run) 1:00:00 [3]6 km (10:00 / km)
this was hilarious, clives training today, no one showed up but mark, clive and me so we went to gap creek west. like uber west. and run around there because clive and mark want to map it. started pissing down with rain, but meh, we found heaps of new tracks and mines and other crazy stuff, quite odd if someone saw two old men and a teenage girl running around in the rain out there, but luckily we only saw one person who gave us funny looks.
ahh old man stories are the best.
best training ive had in a while

Monday Aug 20

run (beep test) 15:00 [5]
wanted to beat the guys in the class so did at 9.5 i think then i stopped at 10.1, didnt feel that puffed after so...maybe could have gone more. my v02 max thingy is like 47.1 so that well above average from 2005 class who did it. Im happy cause the last time i did it i got 7 weeee. i think i will do it again in january so i can determine the difference of fitness from here to now.
C • good stuff 7

orienteering (middle distance training) 37:00 [3]5.3 km (6:59 / km) +110m 6:19 / km
shoes: jalas flx
rainy day at brightview..so im proud i even went out to do soemthing. did a middle distance course and ran hard checking off the direction to the next control. had good flow. a few mistakes in which i hesitated on a fence line before 5 and a little confusion in the creek to 4 but nothing major like the last time i ran here.
