Training camp

Training out at a map...Valer Varde.
Feeling much more physically better in the forest. I am still slow in my nav but is getting better. Direction in longer legs is still happening and I am still losing contact. However, unlike yesterday I kept going and ran to the large catching feature before the control and relocated that one which was in general, on the line.

Also Olivia wanted to show you guys this gps image she made but she couldn't put it on her AP account.

run 20:20 [3] 4.0 km (5:05 / km)

Easy run but picked up speed to get my legs moving. Haven’t run run since I got here and I needed it

orienteering 1:20:00 [3]

On a map near where we are staying. Head was just not with it at the beginning and was not concentrating at all. Stuffed 1 for being too high and then number 2 was a massive blunder. Completely lost contact, thought I found 2 ( no tapes out ) went to look for 3 and just had no idea where I was. I climbed high to get back to a point I could identify and then I found the real 2.
From there I was fine from 3 onwards. I did another longer leg to get my confidence back and it was really good. I felt much better at the end and I have learnt from my mistakes... do not lose contact! Ever.

orienteering 34:12 [3]

We did the prologue WC men’s race from last year. Felt much more confident out there and pushed in places but could have been a lot smoother. I made little errors on 4 and 13 where I lost contact slightly.

Kirkebygden

I went out for a long run but feeling really flat and my stomach has been upset.
Decided to do some of the course and then go on some roads to just turn the legs over. As I type this my stomach is still making weird noises.
Found a cat and it let me pat it. Good day.

Gillingsrod map
Lars set 5 intervals. Tried to push hard but still slow in the terrain. I have to pick up speed but I think with more training I will become more confident.
By the end of the training I was picking up more detail while running and was more confident with myself and route choices.
Enjoyable. Also practiced crossing marshes

orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

Approximate time including warm up.
Out at a map at Fager...something.
Was very warm when we started but ok in the forest.
Took compass lines well and spiked 1,4,5,7.
Wobbled on 2 and 3. Big mistake on 6 where I was so close to the control but missed it. It was a Boulder in a vague spot and drifted to the left.
Had fun and felt ok to start going a bit harder in the forest.
