Jogged a lap of the course and did drills and strides.

Stuck in traffic arrived with 40 mins before the start, jumped out of Robs car and got into the cue for the numbers, put it on and had 30 mins before race start and 25 mins to get a good position on the start line.

Got a fairly decent start, much better than last time anyway. I just couldn't stay up where I felt I should have been in the field and felt tired and heavy, potentially because of the muddy field I've been training on and just not sleeping very well, but can't be sure. Tried to stay in the mix as much as I could but just got pushed around and wasted energy trying to go round people who would just pushed me out onto the outside. Got into good race with Joe Dugdale and so was pretty happy to finish ahead of him but felt like I couldn't open up and run as fast or as smoothly as I am capable of. Felt like heavy going and more of a plod at times so all things considered I think I did alright to push through and overtake people but still feel like I should have been able to run faster but just couldn't.
