Wasn’t expecting to work today and wanted either a long run or an Ennerdale recce today but Emily felt ill so got a call asking if I’d be up for swapping her out and went in 11:15-4:30. Easy day mostly spent sat trying to meditate at the bottom of the zip line or sat at the nets. Fun day and nice and short, pretty easy.
Joined Helm for the Wednesday session on Nicks Hill. Was a pyramid hill session with a downhill start before hitting Nicks Hill and then coming down fast back to the start after each uphill reps. 30” + 1’ + 2’ + 3’ + 4’ + 3’ + 2’ + 1 + 30” with fast downhill back down after each rep and one minute standing recovery. Good session to get used to running fast downhill after running hard uphill. Can’t believe these guys do stuff like this week in week out, I think it can get you very fit but it’s brutal to try and sustain over a long period of time. Good to hit some pretty high intensity hill work and fast downhills given me quite good confidence. Would be good to get another recce before it gets to close to the race. It’s just a case of fitting it in when I’m feeling fairly good and not working.
