60' with Cal along the trails and back, was very easy as Cal still being cautious with his ankle. Not feeling sore in my legs at all just quite tired so was very good to take it easy and it was a very pleasant run.

Grass run race (Liverpool Cross ) 22:43 [5] 4.2 mi (5:25 / mi) +159ft 5:13 / mi
shoes: adidas XCS spikes

Stuck in traffic arrived with 40 mins before the start, jumped out of Robs car and got into the cue for the numbers, put it on and had 30 mins before race start and 25 mins to get a good position on the start line.

Got a fairly decent start, much better than last time anyway. I just couldn't stay up where I felt I should have been in the field and felt tired and heavy, potentially because of the muddy field I've been training on and just not sleeping very well, but can't be sure. Tried to stay in the mix as much as I could but just got pushed around and wasted energy trying to go round people who would just pushed me out onto the outside. Got into good race with Joe Dugdale and so was pretty happy to finish ahead of him but felt like I couldn't open up and run as fast or as smoothly as I am capable of. Felt like heavy going and more of a plod at times so all things considered I think I did alright to push through and overtake people but still feel like I should have been able to run faster but just couldn't.

Grass run (40' Easy + 6 x diagonals ) 45:14 [2] 6.5 mi (6:58 / mi) +15ft 6:57 / mi
shoes: #2 s-lab sense ultra

40' easy round the playing field, most of the water has drained off but still very soggy in places. No wind for a change, feeling good and diagonals feeling pretty decent.

Grass run (60' Easy ) 1:04:36 [3] 9.16 mi (7:03 / mi) +46ft 7:01 / mi
shoes: salomon s-lab sense ultra

60' easy round the playing fields, heavy gusts and very soggy muddy ground made it very slow going and probably harder than it needed to be. Did the strideouts on the more firm parts of the ground which felt pretty good.

3 PM

Grass run (15'easy+fartleck+15'easy) 55:27 intensity: (30:27 @2) + (12:30 @4) + (12:30 @5) 9.3 mi (5:58 / mi) +66ft 5:55 / mi
shoes: adidas XCS spikes

Bad weather, driving wind and rain. Put 12 inch spikes in and session went pretty well, some parts of the field were completely submerged but I was still able to move fairly quick and the wind was behind me for the most part and Callum came out to shout me on which made a big difference! 15' easy 2.33 miles and then straight into the 5 x 2'30''/2'30'' roll on. Covered just over 0.51 of a mile on every single effort and covered 0.40 on all the roll ons, and then 2.32 for the 15' easy.
Feeling pretty good!
