Strength exercises and stretching before 11-7 at work, feeling surprisingly good. Just tight and sore calf muscles but better than they were yesterday.

Quite a warm day for it which possibly made it a little tougher. A guy called Johny from Edan Valley took it out fairly quick so I hung on to him for a bit and then I tried pass him but he held on to me and I was working hard to try and make him hurt, probably a little too hard considering I've never raced this far before. I only got away from him on the technical descent which I took full advantage of and put in as much distance as I could. Pushed on pretty hard up the next climb and knew that it was fairly flat or down hill from 10km onwards but started to feel quite low on energy by about 12km and was spending quite a lot of energy going round people plodding round the previous 17km trail "challenge" that set off an hour before my race. I was able to keep moving relatively fast but I was very aware that I wasn't able to run as fast I usually would have been able to, I think the heat started to get to me a little as I felt quite wobbly coming into the finish and had to sit down for a long time drinking a lot of water before I could get up and walk again to grab my bag and eat all my food. Pretty good race probably overcooked it slightly by working quite hard early on but held it all together which is pretty good. Felt fairly similar to the Gold Rush Trail race with the heat but had more climb which was quite good.

Went for a plod after sitting in the corner of the tent for ages eating and drinking. Calfs felt pretty beat up and quite tired but otherwise all good.

60' moderate on the trails with Cal, a little quick at times but feeling okay. Hill sprints felt quite tough but everything moving well.

Out of Abergwyngregn with Cal and we went up the nice climbing trail up to the lake and back down then cut off up onto the ridge line and along the mountain tops for a while before coming off onto the trail below that took us back into Aber.

Warm up jog through Abergwyngregn and around some of the lower trails before the 30' uphill tempo.

Starting at the little bridge and went up the same way as I've ran previously but went a lot further than I thought I would and got up on top of the mountains where there were 3, 1' descents but overall a lot climb. Felt like I could have gone on for quite a bit longer but definitely worked hard.

60' easy round the field with hill sprints on a nice little trail hill. Feeling a quite tired but moving well on hill sprints.

80’ turbo in the garage progressed up in effort and through the gears up to the 60 min mark and then brought it back down for the last 20’. Was feeling quite tired today but felt better for doing this.
