Trail run (1 hour 50 easy/mod) 1:48:41 [3] 26.16 km (4:09 / km) +520m 3:47 / km
shoes: Speedcross 5 Red

Over and around Scout Scar found it pretty tough to get into the groove of things. I set off fairly relaxed and tried to up the pace after an hour which I think I did. Felt a bit heavy and tired.

Grass session (4 x 2km / 3’ easy) 1:17:48 intensity: (52:48 @2) + (25:00 @5) 19.35 km (4:01 / km) +38m 3:59 / km
shoes: Adidas XCS Black

Playing fields dead soggy with lots of standing water. Did 20 mins jogging a few drills and strides and got into the 4 x 2km with 3’ minutes easy. Found it tough to get going probably more mentally than physically, but managed to keep it going and looks like I got quicker as it went on! Watch says I averaged 3’15” pace for the efforts with 6’37”, 6’35”, 6’30” and 6’26”. Think it was a good session but may have been a bit tired going in as I felt like it took quite a lot out of me.

Trail run (60’ moderate ) 1:02:23 [3] 15.73 km (3:58 / km) +330m 3:35 / km
shoes: Speedcross pro 2

Round Cunswick with 6 laps of the hilly field and back. Cold wind that came in strong gusts. Felt really great on the downhill able to relax and fly down and almost recover a little bit as well, not something I’ve felt I’ve been able to do for absolutely ages! Probably going a tad too quick at times but felt super strong. Stopped for a min on the way back to chat to a friend from work which I think made the climb back up the other side of the golf course a little bit easier than usual. Felt like a super strong run.

Trail run (30’ easy) 33:30 [2] 6.48 km (5:10 / km) +182m 4:32 / km
shoes: Speedcross 5 Red

Up and down the golf course. Wee bit stormy but had head-torch on full charge so all good.

Easy over Cunswick, really cold wind. Tried taking it really slow as felt quite tired and a bit sluggish.

Two laps up and down the golf course. Feeling a lot better than this morning.

Road run (12 x 400m / 60’ easy) 1:00:02 intensity: (46:02 @2) + (14:00 @5) 14.56 km (4:07 / km) +178m 3:53 / km
shoes: Nike zoom fly

Cold rain and a bit windy but not too heavy fair few puddles but feels a lot easier running on the road compared to mud! Jogged down to the river loop and did a lap, a few drills and strides and then got into the 400m up and down one side of the river. I had the session on the suunto so I was going off GPS for distance but I was finishing in the same places each time so I think it was pretty accurate. Apparently averaging 2’51” pace so about 68 seconds. Felt good! Was working hard and recovering well in the 60 seconds in between efforts. Easy lap jog afterwards and back up the hill back to the house.

Trail run (50’ easy) 55:25 [2] 10.57 km (5:15 / km) +210m 4:46 / km
shoes: #2 S-lab Ultra 2

Round Kunswick, well windy! No real soreness but I do feel a bit delicate in the hamstrings and calfs so did two fairly relaxed strides which were pretty good.
