8 AM

Cycling (Cycle to work ) 40:51 [2] +202m

Lovely commute. Good day a bit easier than usual, reasonably busy but still very manageable.
5 PM

Trail run (Wansfell ) 54:23 intensity: (36:00 @2) + (10:00 @3) + (6:23 @4) + (2:00 @5) 8.69 km (6:15 / km) +429m 5:01 / km
shoes: Sonic RA Max

Jog up Wansfell with Stan carrying his mountain bike after work. Easy up and then fast down following/racing Stan down. Haven’t had that much fun going fast on a downhill in years. Unbelievable views and still t-shirt weather!
7 PM

Cycling (Cycle home) 41:31 [2] +242m

Pushed hard on the climbs apparently my 2nd fastest cycle home, kind of an easy-moderate intensity. Pretty shattered and sleep deprived but feeling strangely very good.

Hike (Buttermere to Keswick ) 4:27:59 [1] 23.31 km (11:30 / km) +1568m 8:36 / km
shoes: Sonic RA pro

Howard’s Steve Parr round. Expected to be doing a night run as we were expecting him to come in about 4am so I set off at 1am from Kendal to pick up Jacob Tonkin from Thirlmere and get to Keswick to meet Dan and get over to Buttermere for 3am. We went back up to Newlands for signal to check the tracker and realised he was slowing down and would be more like 7-9am. Attempted to sleep for a bit in Dans car at Newlands lay-by for a few hours before driving back down where Mags found us and we went and met the rest of the crew just up the road. Went for toast and a hot chocolate at the cafe as he was now due about 11am. Was having a good time so didn’t really mind to much at all. And the run was just full on bants definitely the rudest one so far and very clear skies a bit chilly on the tops but warm enough the rest of the time. Awesome day out. Howard’s body was passed broken but still kept it moving made sure he ate all his snickers and bananas and drank all his coke and water. 118 miles total absolutely mental.

5 PM

Trail run warm up/down (Warm up ) 16:35 [2] 3.25 km (5:06 / km) +98m 4:26 / km
shoes: Salomon sense 6

Along the path from Walna Scar car park. Lakeland Trails race comes this way so good to get a look at it. Good catch up with the Helm guys.
6 PM

Trail run (Coniston Old man TT) 22:39 [4] 3.13 km (7:14 / km) +582m 3:45 / km
shoes: Salomon sense 6

We were setting off at minute intervals with me 3rd to last. Pretty good route mostly very runnable tiny bit of scrambling. Felt like an excellent workout. Pretty much ran all the way up which I’m happy about and 3 and a bit minutes on everyone else. Got some segments so that indicates decent fitness again. So still just about managing to tick over I think. Had a lot of fun good to get out and run hard uphill with other people.
7 PM

Trail run warm up/down (Back down ) 21:14 [2] 3.16 km (6:43 / km)
shoes: Salomon sense 6

Back down to the car park pretty much the same way with a little detour down the big scree shoot. Very easy chatting.
