Out of Staveley going up the left side of Kentmere valley across to the other side through Kentmere and back over Potter Fell. Felt pretty good on the road sections and gentle grassy climbs but tired on the really steep bits but always going slow enough to keep the intensity low. Some churned up muddy sections. First time wearing S/lab cross I think it’s Salomons best answer to a light fell running shoe worked really they’ve good got some great studs on them.

Over golf course, Cunswick, all the way down scout scar through Sizer Barn and down to the river along to the big bridge near Sedgwick and back along the river through town back home. Pretty busy with loads people out pootling about in the nice sunny day. Somebody managed to fall off the edge of Scout Scar there was a big rescue team with loads of rope.

Felt fairly good for about 65 mins then felt a slight bonk for the last 30 or so mins but still ticking over nicely.
Gonna rest up before another longer run with Ben tomorrow then probably take it very easy start of next week.

2km on the road round the block then same as yesterday. Still a bit heavy and tired not quite recovering as fast or as well as usual. Think I’ve been sleeping pretty lightly and got quite poor quality sleep.

Easy on the road to Cunswick and back over the golf course, incredible sunset. Feeling better then this morning.

Warm up from Ben and Sarah’s place around Staveley and up past Ings where we did the session on the cycle path next to the A591.

With 3 mins easy/static recovery.
Felt relatively good. Wasn’t forcing it too much. Able to hold a relatively relaxed rhythm. Very nice to do a session with Ben again makes a massive difference doing a session with someone else.

Cool down round Staveley and had tea and crumpets in the warm sun in Ben and Sarah’s backyard. Very nice.

Medium loop round town through upper kirkbarrow and through oxenholme and down through sandylands and back home up beast banks. Upper hamstings/glute a little sore probably from legging it downhill yesterday to Lukes house before climbing.
