A pint of Doombar and now to reflect on another good week
Was tired Monday after a night out, disrupted sleep pattern and long run on Sunday on 4 hours sleep
Then gone on to throw in two cheeky little speed sessions (One two/three mile quick tempo and some fartlek) before a race.
If all is good with the foot might slip in another fartlek and hope to hit 55 miles including the cross country and maybe some extra after the race

I am a doughnut
Warmed up ahead of the start line. Planned to meet my friend Chris back at the baggage area before the start of the race. Couldn't get through the crowd. Late, missed him. Then climbed over a wall to start a race. Realised my lace wasn't properly done up. Started doing it up. Announcer started counting 5,4,3,2... Failed to tie up lace in time. Tried to tuck into shoe. Ran 6.2 miles with a shoe lace mostly undone. Nobody got hurt. No pain in foot until after race - sore plantar fascia. Hope it's nothing major as was a good race
Went off feeling comfortable. Thought would be fun to sit with a pack I would most likely finish behind but felt good. Then somebody asked someone to take up the lead of the pack and for some reason thought why not. Felt I ran a good first 5k but then the pack left me and I struggled for a few kilometres before managing to pick some back up and go for it at the end but just not enough left in the tank to fight people off/regain places
Overall pleased. Hope to get some more good miles and mini-taper in ahead of the last South Yorkshire and then build those miles back to 60 and start adding some speed in. The volume first experiment has been good so far. Hoping to up the intensity when I feel ready
