Gym 30:00 [3]
rhr:45 slept:6.8 (injured)

Struggled on alt G. Possibly/probably due to bike ride but was good to get out on the bike

Decided to start calf press on the leg machine to figure out left calf max and explore other strengthening than eccentrics

Left calf noticeably weaker. Also felt good burn in plantar fascia during calf press

3 x 10 40kg
3 x 5 55kg

Bike Ride 2:31:36 [3] 35.3 mi (4:18 / mi)
rhr:40 slept:7.1 (injured)

Waking body check

Stomach - 3
Calf - 0

Yoga - 50 mins. Class included hopping and lots of single leg balance
Tried a little jog on the way there, still not 100%
Bought compression socks to wear after runs on my way home, we shall see.
On measurement, left calf is smaller than right!
Being injured has made me all philosophical. Main thing when it comes to training is that my ego is currently writing out cheques my body can't cash and I need to accept some weeks work won't allow me to run my perfect week but it does help more than last job

Went for a bike ride, had a couple of pints and a carvery. Peaks were stunning. Dave said I look like a fat Chris Froome when climbing current bodyweight: 72.4kg the cheeky bugger

Swim 35 [3] 1.0 mi (35 / mi)
rhr:32 slept:9.2 (injured)

Waking Body Check

Stomach – 1
Calves – 0

Yoga – 20 mins
Balance.
Touched floor
Dolphins

No Alt G today due to working in the evening and wouldn't have fitted it in so went swimming instead. I'm a lot better in the pool these days than I used to be.
In other news according to my garmin my long sleep nearly killed me as heart decided it would rest at 32. If this is my resting HR I should nail it when I get fit. Somehow since being injured and not reducing my intake I've lost a couple of kilos. There are positives but when I ran on to treat the Blackburn goalkeeper (who wasn't really injured nor my player!!) I felt like I was hobbling a little again.
Will review the situation tomorrow after yoga re. running outside for a bit

Pitch Run 7:59 [3] 1.1 mi (7:16 / mi)
rhr:41 slept:7.0 (injured) shoes: Adidas Sequence

Waking Body Check

Stomach – 3
Calves – 0
Quads – 0
Glutes – 0
Hams – 0

Yoga – 10.00
Touched the floor again, third day in a row
Spent a bit of time 'flossing' calf/tib post this AM and using a massage ball on my plantar fascia.
Practiced balancing on one leg. Left (injured calf) balance way worse than right. Managed 30 seconds eyes closed on 3rd attempt. Then about 1 min on another go

Rehab session AM

Hops 3 x 5
Abaresque on bosu 3 x 10
Single leg squats 3x10
Single leg bridge 3 x10
Mountain climbers 3x20 (inc both sides)
Pull ups 4 x 6
Balance on bosu eyes closed 3 x min 30 seconds (many, many attempts)

Pitch Run 3pm
Ran a few laps around the pitches at work. Didn't feel the slight limp I was getting last time I ran outside. Could feel a tiny tightness in my calf and one 7 min mile felt pretty hard but was pleased. Still don't think calf is 100%. Will start doing little full gravity runs now but only small until 95% feels good on the Alt G
4 PM

Alt G (80%) 20:00 [1] 2.9 mi (6:54 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Adidas Sequence

Alt G 80%
To give myself a 30 minute session went straight on the Alt G after my pitch runs. So pleased my favourite machine is working again.
80% at speed 15 felt very comfortable. Just wanted to make sure didn't push any further. Will try 85/90 if comfortable tomorrow

Waking Body Check

Stomach – 2
Calves – 1
Quads – 0
Glutes – 0
Hams – 0

Yoga – 25.00
Touched the floor again, second day in a row :-)
High score of holding breath after diaphragmatic breathing exercises 1min13secs. Always felt have a poor lung capacity. Will be interesting to see if yoga can improve this + flexibility + core strength + balance.

Alt G still down at work so opted for a rest day
Also going to try insoles I was once prescribed in my work shoes to see if that eases things
