Andy Webster Memorial Run

This is an annual event at my club, Newcastle (Staffs) AC. Andy Webster was a popular member who died of cancer 10 years ago. The club organises a 5K run each year in his memory. It is one of those events where you don't wear a watch or a Garmin - you have to guess a time for 5K and the person who is nearest to their estimated time wins.

This is held on a flat cycle path alongside the club so completely traffic-free and easy to run on. I was going to take it easy but ended up pushing it a bit. I am definitely not 'race sharp' at the moment - felt tired, stiff and a bit tense so my running was not relaxed or flowed. I estimated 30:35 but ended up running 27 minutes so 9 min/miling which isn't too bad. I don't feel springy or light on my feet but am putting that down to stress caused by the events of the last two to three weeks.
