Nordic Walking.

I went for a brisk, one hour walk (Nordic Walking) along the canal at Stone whilst my mum was in her personal training session. A nice, flat stretch on the towpath.

Regeneration run with members of my club (Newcastle AC).

I did a very easy paced run, more like a tootle around Apedale and Keele.

A very steady 4.5 miles.

My last strength & conditioning session before TR24. Took this one a bit easier than normal and included more stretches/mobility/core work rather than pure weights.

Same workout - flexibility/strength/core but we took it a bit easier due to the heat!

45 minutes Moderate Run with Newcastle AC.

I've realised it should have been a 45 minute regeneration run with a 60 minute moderate run on Wednesday. I ran with members of my club and at a moderate pace so will switch these runs around. Will do a regeneration run on Wednesday.

Specific Endurance Run

2 hours - on your schedule and should have been on mine...however...

I had to make a slight detour as I was faced with running through a field of bullocks and calves plus a large bull, none of whom looked friendly. Add to the fact I was dressed head to toe in red and you have a recipe for disaster!

I didn't want to put my speed work to the test against them so had to find another way around which added on extra time and mileage.

This isn't a situation I am likely to encounter at the Thunder Run - thankfully!
