slept:11.0 (rest day)

Decided to take a rest day after yesterday's intense session.

Friday Feb 2 #

9 AM

slept:8.0

Pilates/Yoga session
4 PM

Hill Reps (see below) 1:02:44 [2] 5.01 mi (12:32 / mi)
slept:8.0 shoes: Inov-8 Roadclaw

Started with a 5 minute walk then 10 minutes Easy running followed by 4 x 60 second hill reps then 4 x 30 second hill reps with two minute recoveries. Then 10 mins Easy running followed by 5 mins cool down.

I realised when I got home that I should have done 6 not 4 so 12 in total not 8.

Getting past my sell by date...

50 Easy and Strideouts 56:30 [2] 5.65 mi (10:00 / mi) +19m 9:54 / mi
slept:10.0 shoes: Inov-8 Roadclaw

50 minutes Easy with Strideouts.

I did this session along the canal towpath at Stone. Right, started with a 5 minute walk then light jog followed by 15 minutes steady running at my half marathon pace so might be a bit too quick.

Then 6 x 30 second strideouts with two minute recoveries.

Another 15 minutes running with my fastest mile being the last at 9mph.

Finally, a 5 minute light jog then walk to cool down with.

1 hour in total.
6 PM

Walking 1:10:35 [1] 4.45 mi (15:51 / mi) +60m 15:13 / mi
slept:10.0 shoes: Saucony Triumph

Steady walking with trail running poles arond the lanes and footpaths at home.

A nice, brisk pace - not quite as fast as my Nordic Walking pace but steady.

An easy paced Regeneration Run on multi-terrain where I live.
7 PM

Strength & conditioning session at the gym.

3 PM

Nordic Walking 1:36:10 [2] 6.3 mi (15:16 / mi) +156m 14:10 / mi
slept:9.0 shoes: Saucony Triumph

Brisk paced Nordic Walking along an undulating/hilly route (included one long climb and a short, sharp ascent).

6 PM

Run and Talk 1:00:00 [3] 5.01 mi (11:59 / mi)
slept:9.0 shoes: Saucony Triumph

Tonight's session was the second, Run and Talk event for World Mental Health Day. The first one was at Trentham, tonight's was at my club, Newcastle AC. A very easy paced social run with plenty of mustering back.

I didn't wear my Garmin but was running with a good friend of mine who was wearing his so about 5.2 miles approx.

Sunday Jan 28 #

4 PM

Regeneration 1:10:39 [1] 5.01 mi (14:07 / mi) +98m 13:18 / mi
slept:8.0 shoes: Inov-8 Terraclaw

A very wet and muddy Regeneration Run in The Bishop's Wood. Ended up running or slogging through water filled, muddy tractor tracks on a multi-terrain route. A mix of grass, trail, sand, mud and fire road.

No niggles or any other issue.

Did a few minutes cool down (walk).
5 PM

Walking 45:17 [1] 2.56 mi (17:41 / mi) +60m 16:29 / mi
slept:8.0 shoes: Inov-8 Terraclaw

Followed the run with a nice, steady walk back from The Bishop's Wood and then along the lanes to shake the legs out.

I think I have racked up nearly 60 miles this week which is a combination of running and walking sessions.

The mileage is building up nice and slowly for Chester :)
