slept:9.0 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 300

60 minutes Specific Endurance Run then 30 minutes Steady running which I did at my half marathon then 10K pace.

I did this session off-road in The Burnt Wood although most of the last bit was on country lanes and paths.

Started off with a few minutes walking then a light jog before I eased into the run.

slept:9.0 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 300

A steady Nordic Walking session on multi-terrain (mixture of flat/undulating).

Getting back into it now...

45 minutes Easy with 6 Hill Sprints. My mistake: I thought it was an hour session so ran at a steady pace for 25 mins then the 15 second full on sprints with 2 minute recoveries. Followed by 10 to 15 mins steady running and cool down jogging/walking.

Felt strong.
2 PM

Power Walking 1:01:07 [2] 4.02 mi (15:12 / mi) +51m 14:37 / mi
slept:9.0 shoes: Inov-8 X-Talons 212

Followed the run session with a good, power walking workout with my trail running poles.

Regeneration 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
slept:9.0 shoes: Inov-8 Roadclaw

First run since Saturday and it felt surprisingly good considering the events of the last few days. The tiredness is definitely easing and I maintained a nice, easy pace along the canal at Stone. Felt light and springy so maybe the three day rest period did me some good.

Garmin did not get a signal so I had to estimate this but probably did around 5 miles. I'm easing back into your training plan...

REST DAY 1 [0]
slept:9.0 (rest day)

Still some tiredness due to the grief of losing my dog although my energy levels are starting to come back up.

I will try a run tomorrow and ease back into training.

REST DAY (see below) 1 [0]
slept:7.0

Unofficial rest day. See below...

I had a cracking run on Saturday - Day 1 of my back to back session. All set for Day 2 and a three hour run..

Sadly, my dog was taken ill over the weekend; was poorly on Saturday evening and worsened overnight so mum and I had to take him to the emergency vet Sunday morning. He was in heart failure and the vet advised us to put him to sleep.

We were devastated as you can imagine (I know you are a dog lover too!). Did nowt for the rest of the day as we were like zombies! I will take Monday as another rest day as I am still feeling low (and numb to be honest) but will be back on it Tuesday as it will a. take my mind off things and b. I have Chester coming up.
