running race (marathon) 3:19:27 26.22 mi (7:36 / mi)

Where to begin... I had high expectations for the Scotiabank Marathon this morning. My goals were to beat my PB of 3:07 and get a Boston Qualifying time (Sub 3:05) but things just didn't go my way.
First half, I was feeling great and ran 1:26 but started cramping at 26km. Then I pulled my hamstring and my back started acting up. I knew my hope of qualifying for Boston was gone but I wasn't about to quit. I put away my Garmin and my new goal became finishing. I kept running, albeit it very slowly, and wobbled in for a second half split of 1:53 for a total of 3:19. Still managed to finish 275/4,500 runners.
Although disappointed with the result, I'm very proud that I pushed through and finished. Not all races are going to go your way and I think this will only make me stronger for the next one.
