Orienteering (Collecting points ) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Speed cross 3

After the course was over we went through and collected all the points we had set over the last two weeks. This whole event was some good practice of setting points, finding and vetting new points.

Individual Training (APFT ) 30:00 [4]
shoes: Speed cross 3

Got my best score yet on the APFT, a 291. Started off with pushups, my weakest category. Got 66, needed 72 for the max. Next up was sit ups, got 77, needed 78 for the max. Realizing it couldn't supermax, I just maxed the run at 12:16, doing equal 6:08 splits. Got a 291 which is 7 points higher than my last. I want to max the next one.

Orienteering (Vetting for A meet) 50:00 [3]
shoes: Speed cross 3

Day two of running the green course. Much better conditions. Maps were still black and white, however today it was clear and not cloudy. Rocks were still wet and still no bags on the points but the clarity made it much easier. Still hardships to find white pipes in New York but its Gucci. Good training, setting up a course.

Orienteering (Vetting for A Meet ) 45:00 [3]
shoes: Speed cross 3

The Team was out at the A meet day two location running the courses to make sure they are right. This is day one (it took us two days to run a green course). Got to point four. Very crappy conditions. The maps were in black and white, completely foggy, wet rocks, the points are even marked with bags just PVC pipes. Point is it was a rough day.

Individual Training race (West Point Half Marathon ) 1:36:40 [4] 13.1 mi (7:23 / mi)
shoes: Speed cross 3

Fabled West Point Half Marathon. Burned 1650 Calories and had a decent amount of climb (its West Point what do you expect). This was my first timed half marathon and I like it. Although these races seem to be somewhat expensive, I wouldn't mind doing two or three of these a year. I want to try a flatter course and get under 1:30. I didn't do any training for this one so I know I could do it faster next time. I felt pretty good during the whole thing, although at mile 10 I started to get a bad cramp for whatever reason and it lasted until about mile 12. After it went away some of these affects still lingered but I had so much adrenaline it didn't really matter. Good race overall.
