Run 2:30:00 [3]

MFR Monday run from Bruce's; ran both ways and skipped dinner. Need to start punishing myself for almost a year of neglected training. I hope to be back on track for Oz Relay Champs in 10 weeks... Wonder if it can be done?

Run 57:00 [3]

Just a short one from home. Felt ok despite the hard week.

Saturday Apr 28, 2007 #

Cycling 3:00:00 [3]

BBC ride in the morning. Rode from home to black rock and back. Then to Dion’s and back.

Run 1:20:00 [3]

Cycling (MTB) 2:05:00 [3]

MTB ride with MFR. Got my new lights tested – not perfect but it will have to do. I’m not exactly a pro biker anyway. Went to this hippie – pay what you feel like – restaurant afterwards. Despite the whale hanging from the ceiling, there were no meet to find with in the premises… however, the food was great – probably the best meal I’ve had in a while (that is without meet in it of course).

Run 1:49:30 [3]

MFR morning run. I ran from home to put in some more hours in my training diary. Didn't know it was on the plan, but it was good with some uphill intervals! -Or fartslek as we call it in Norway.

Swimming 24:18 [3]

Slowly getting faster...

Cycling 46:30 [3]

Rode to Warren's bikeshop to pick up my new lights. All set for a nightride on Thursday now! And the scott 24h...

Cycling 50:00 [3]

Riding there and back.

Run 1:53:00 [3]

3hr score event, Sailors Diggings. Daylesford. Could easily have finished the course, but I got a bit sick of it after a good hour. Don't have the stamina and didn’t have the willpower to finish, so I skipped a few controls.

Cycling (MTB) 1:34:00 [3]

I bit longer than I planned, because my back tire blew up… great fun having to run home about 5km on my bike shoes.

Thursday Apr 19, 2007 #

Swimming 24:28 [3]

New record I think. Felt good in the pool today.

Wednesday Apr 18, 2007 #

Cycling (MTB) 1:15:00 [3]

Punctured again, same place as before –gotta give up making that jump… Walked back to the bike shop, got it fixed and was on my way again. Only problem is that the back wheel is uneven now…

Cycling 1:17:00 [3]

A bit of the same feeling as yesterday, only today in was a consistent headwind. One thing is for sure; it can’t be my lack of fitness!

Wednesday Apr 11, 2007 #

Swimming 26:00 [3]

Felt a bit tired today. Felt like it was a current in the pool that kept pulling me back.

Tuesday Apr 10, 2007 #

Run 55:00 [3]

Short one from home. Felt all right despite all the travelling.

Run 45:00 [3]

Last day. And a hell of a lot steeper as well! And the heat, goddamn the heat! I got through it somehow. Apparently I won as well; this must be the proudest moment of my career; better than winning the H21M in O-Ringen. I’m now officially ‘best of the losers!’

Run 45:00 [3]

Easy navigation today, hardly made any mistakes. But I realised that I’m only good for about 30min running. The last 10min of the course I was totally rooted. Ended up beaten by about 20sec after loosing over 10sec in the finish-shut!

Run 50:00 [3]

First time sledger – mass start. Good fun. My tactic where to let the others navigate from the start and then take over when they got tired. Not a good one, we all ended up grossly missing the 1st control… Won at the end anyway, think I’m just that tiny bit faster than the rest of the pack.

Run 30:00 [3]

“Slologue” (the elite prologue for us other losers). I really won this event (sprint finish), but where given 2nd best time. However, I learned a lesson that one should remember in other parts of life as well:

“It doesn’t matter how fast you are to put your (SI) stick in the hole; if you fumble with it and don’t pull it out quick enough, you may loose and will forever have to face the consequences.”
