Cycling back after lunch ... Very very muddy and wet by the end of it.
Legs really feeling tired for the last long hill.

Orienteering Event (Local event) 51:07 [4] *** 6.85 km (7:28 / km) +100m 6:57 / km

Bit too far along the earthbank to #3. The marsh by #7 was a very sinking marsh ... got a bit stuck in it. Messed up 8 a bit - was too far to the right. Then got confused at 9 in the circle as it was in the middle of light green amongst loads of other knolls so got the wrong knoll a few times. Took forever to #10 for some reason. Was very lucky to #12 - didn't really have a plan. Then to #13 ended up in the same place I was for #8 which was quite a way from the control so lost at least a minute. The rest were fine.

Orienteering Event (Local night event) 1:04:48 [3] **** 6.78 km (9:33 / km) +200m 8:20 / km
spiked:13/17c

Dad beat me by 11 seconds ... pretty annoyed. Knew it was going to be tough as the visibility was worse than the British Nights for the first half as the fog was so bad. Ran off a massive track at least twice to the first control. Decided to take it slow. Got a bit hesitant near #1 as I wasn't really sure where I was and couldn't see very far at all. Then took a dodgy bearing to #2 but it meant I had a good attackpoint. Got in the circle to #3 but fog meant I couldn't see the control but realised when someone else stopped near me. Messed up #4 a bit and found another control on a wall end. Lost just under a minute here. Found 5 and 6 fine and took 7 very slow but got it alright. Thankfully the wind kept blowing a bit to #8 meaning the fog lifted every now and then so I could find my way back the path I was supposed to be on. Found the rest fine until #13 when I ended up too far down the hill in a ditch. Lost over a minute here. Took a bad route to #15 ... didn't see the bridge I must only have been metres away from which would have taken me straight to the control. The rest were good. Only 2 real mistakes so quite pleased as the fog really did make it tricky.

Warm up/down 5:40 [3] 0.9 km (6:18 / km) +10m 5:58 / km

Cold evening ...

Hill Training 22:26 [4] 3.13 km (7:10 / km) +107m 6:07 / km

No idea about climb at the moment. Very very muddy potato field hill with big ruts. Did 4 'shorter' up and downs with a rest between then 2 medium ones. Was a lot harder than we thought it would be as field was so tough going. Did it with mainly with dad who agreed the field was much muddier than last time.
Jogged back home.
