Easy/steady run up to Barr Camp on the Barr Trail (still c.9km/1200m from the summit), then 3x2km (3' up/down) downhill reps. Felt pretty lethargic and with tired legs to start with on the steep road up to the trail, then as things warmed up felt better and was able to go at a more steady pace. Started feeling the altitude/heat nearing Barr Camp. Had a wee break there to chat to Zach Miller and try his famous apple pancakes (can recommend).
Easy trail the whole way, steeper at the start, and nice parts of shade in the forest with glimpses to Pikes Peak summit.
