Drove (!) most of the way up Pikes Peak with Remi and Petter, parked, then ran up to the summit through a cool little boulder field. Not such a nice summit tbh, construction of a new building underway, but then headed off down the trail the race route takes on the other side of the mountain. This proved to be much nicer, zig-zagging down on loose small gravel single-track. Turned around at a random point and headed back up the same way (all about that practice). Took it all fairly easy, making sure the breathing didn't get too noticeable (it never felt like we were running at 4000m, maybe due to the incredibly easy access to said height). Took a lactate test once we got back to the summit - 3mmol/L popped up, interesting.
Jogged back down to the car on the easier trail by the road. Big change in temperature (mainly due to the wind) on either side of the mountain, be prepared peeps. Legs a little dead now after a couple of days of bigger descents than usual, but nothing too bad.

Summit-to-car because I ended the activity at the top for some reason.
