Long one in the Pentlands - a bit of a bigger version of the Skyline.
Was sunny and clear when I caught the bus but by the time I got up onto the hills the cloud was down, but still pretty warm so quite good conditions (especially underfoot, driest I've known it). Tested out mid-run fuel for the first time - one Torq gel just over an hour in (on the turn to start heading back towards Hillend), then another one (ft. caffeine) c.2hr in and about 45' before finishing. They went down smoothly (took some water with each too), but didn't really feel a significant change from them - I felt fairly consistent and had no dips in energy throughout the whole run. So, either the gels worked and I timed it right before any dip in energy, or they just added fuel to an a body that, on the day, would have been fine without their addition.
Tried to some very enthusiastic gravel descending which led to a gashed shin, bum and elbow (some funny looks in my direction stepping on the bus afterwards). Hamstrings a bit dodgy on the descents after yesterday's race, so just took them pretty easy. Enjoyed the run a lot!
