Early one - first head-torcher! Loaded the route onto the watch like a true Cumbrian and followed it by the beam of the light - then got the fright of my life when I looked back up and into the gleaming eyes of a herd of cows I had happened upon. I was guided to the path up to Clough Head just as it was light enough to not warrant a headtorch, and also when the said item started dying. Once on the tops it was a claggy and blustery affair, taking in Calfhow Pike, Little Dodd and Great Dodd. A sketchy gully descent took me down to the east side of the Rigg's, and then made my way home via the contouring path.
Enjoyed this run a lot!
