Orienteering race (9.43km, 7:40 min/km) 1:09:48 [4] 8.1 km (8:37 / km) +238m 7:31 / km

DVOA Fair Hill, fun fast race over a lot of fields. Kind of like a long sprint! Good weather, low 40s. Ran red, only real mistake was 7 where I misread the contour lines and the creek, 2 mins. Also lost about 45s to 11 as I got caught in some green, might have been faster to push down to the road from 10.

Fun crossing the Mason-Dixon line twice, orienteering in two states and seeing the old earthworks!

Nice finish to the O-year, thank you DVOA!

Orienteering race (8.13km, 9.08 min/km) 1:13:49 [3] 6.6 km (11:11 / km) +360m 8:47 / km

HVO Westmoreland Sanctuary. Nice fast run, 45 degrees, very pleasant. A few wobbles on final approach (11,12, 30s each), a little adrift on way to 5 (1 min?), and suboptimal route choice to 12 (climbed down 20m which I had to climb up again, but I was scared to screw up in this area which I have done the last two times. Plus it is messy to run on the slope. But still, lost time there). Probably 3-4 mins in total.

Still pleased with time, certainly one of my best runs of the year (makes up for last Sunday!), and a vast improvement on Westmoreland Sanctuary last April which shows how much improvement I have made to my speed.

Map and GPS (GPS track disappeared from start to just before 3 for some strange reason, had to recreate it but the speeds are not accurate):
