WS9 - Coop Sawmill, near Glastonbury by Hartford. Gorgeous day, 45 degrees. Woods clear of snow and dry, except lots of water in the big creeks going through the park. I managed to keep my feet dry.
Nice course, not difficult. On way to 5 the creek was deep and so I turned back and found a feet dry crossing point further up, which cost a minute. Bit of hesitation on 8 as I initially mistook the first ridge two-thirds way through for the final ridge. Coming down from 9 the creek was 1-2 feet deep with ice cold water, I didn't feel like getting soaked so stopped the clock and walked upstream until I found a place to cross, then walked downstream to the spot where I would have passed had it been competition. Wobbly on 11 which should have been very easy but I came down the slope too far N and was sloppy.
Really felt the lack of proper training in the last 2 months (too much work, too much snow, 2 teenage girls to drive around) right after 13. Struggle, as was the slog up the hill to the last control.
Overall very enjoyable and loved to be finally out in the woods!
