Swim 45:00 [3]
swim... with lots of stretching.

could feel the leg a bit, and got a foot cramp. But it was nice to feel more active. The deep pain in the hip has been gone for a few weeks now... which I think is a good thing.

Wednesday Jul 2

Note
On the upside, it's really cool to see my spine on the MRI.

Tuesday Jul 1

Note
Results back from the MRI including a follow-up with the orthopedist:

-I have a "minimal broad-based bulge with a posterior superimposed central annular fissure" between L1 and S1. This has the possibility to cause pain in the hip and leg. The doc is a little surprised that my symptoms are primarily on the right side since it could be on both. The pinched/inflamed nerve as the cause is also supported by easy tests on the strength of the toes (strangely enough). It's possible that the cause had been there for a while before I started to feel pain. There may or may not also be hamstring related issues...

Solution?
Continue PT twice a week
Decide if I want a cortisone injection to do targeted anti-inflammation work
Consider acupuncture as an option instead of cortisone (much more long term/repeated)
Take Amirix for muscle relaxation (since I biked a couple sundays ago, I've been having a small muscle sort-of permanently tight/spasmed in my back)
Take Voltaren for anti-inflammatory action

Note
swam a bit last Tuesday--

Otherwise, just a really painful week. The pain has moved out of the interior of the hip to the hamstring insertion and the lower back, but has gotten pretty sharp. I'm doing a follow-up with the orthopedist including getting the results of the MRI on Monday. Maybe that will help. Or maybe this is just part of the process.
