I have been walking to work and back and I have been managing to focus for a work day. This feels like a win!
Busy week next week then to the UK for a wedding and a holiday that is probably now going to be door knocking to try to get rid of our odious MP. Not impressed with the WEP using us as a platform to increase their profile.
I don't quite agree with all the opinions in this op-ed (not sure how she can effectively split the liberal vote and lose her deposit) but it talks about what's going on nicely:
I am not training because it turns out planning a Science March in three weeks kind of takes up all your time. It is great though. Today we got to briefly hang out with our US Senators!

Today I did a crazy road trip around many state parks, and I jogged at two of them. First I stopped off at the Book Barn, before heading to Salt Rock Campground, which would make a really lovely little 1:5000 map. The weather was absolutely glorious and a few signs of spring were poking through. The river has mildly broken banks in a few places, and I got to wade through shin high seriously ice cold water. It was a lovely spot.
Then to Scantic River, which is actually three small State Parks, the smallest of which was lovely, and the other two were pretty crappy. More flood plains and very thorny. I've never been to that part of the state before and there are some crazy proper burbs and some lovely looking town centres. I watched a heron for a long time, until it got spooked by a dog.
Finally across to Satan's Kingdom (I know I know, not quite alphabetical, let this one slide :) ). The main attractions here are water based, but there is a small trail that follows the river. After a few mins it got very storm damaged, and after about ten more it wasn't really passable. I knew there was the Nepaug blue blazed trail just above and tried to cut up - bad idea in trainers! It was really slippy and steep and I had to throw myself from tree to tree to get up, but kept thinking "argh lot's of these trees just fell down!" Made it up and had to take a moment. Felt silly!
Someone knocked into the Satan's Kingdom roadsign and it snapped off, so not even the traditional photo.
Spring is here! I brought gloves and I needed suncream. Oops.

Second running part. Wanted to run longer but my stomach didn't like me so walked instead.

The Farmer's Market is outside again! So I ran over to get cash. There were pea shoots, but it was still quite chilly. I will actually stop wearing my HRM soon, promise.

Very tired today so did a super easy recovery run home.

Mobility, strength day 1 (still really struggling with 1 leg deadlifts) and a cool down stroll around the park. Feel a bit better having exercised. HR obviously not right...should really send the garmin in!
Spent the afternoon exploring Jamaica Plain in the snow as a potential place to live. My contract is nowhere near signed yet, so this is perhaps a little presumptive!
