Note

Took a rest day today. Euan had his nine month visit in the morning - got the go ahead to try milk so I need to bake some powdered milk biscuits in the negative time that I have available. He didn't like that visit much, not surprising when you haven't been touched by anyone else since your six month visit and the second thing they did was stab you with a needle in your thigh and then squeeze blood out of your finger. We were all a bit traumatized so we took it easy for the rest of the day, and then when the neighbors came round to get kale before teatime he waved at them all! It was soooooooo cute.

Explored a little further on my Saturday run. Felt stiff at the start but good by the end. Ran along Collins Cove - it will be good when I can go a bit further and explore the peninsula towards the beach. We took Euan on Friday morning to dip his toes in the sea and he was intrigued. Chatted at me all the way home in the car so clearly we need to do new things more often!

Didn't really want to run but persuaded myself by exploring a different part of town. There's a little beach at Collins Cove and a nice bike path back from there. It's hot but not yet too humid. I think being near the sea helps! Looking forwards to working up to being able to run long enough to loop over the bridges into Beverly!

Was supposed to be a burpee and sprints workout but still have sore upper legs from the last workout. You can now tell Freeletics what is sore and adapt your workout. This is an upper body one with these weird sphinx press ups - took a while to get the hang of them. The Freeletics app is really quite impressive now. I am sweaty.

Note

This week has sucked mentally. Watching the numbers go up down south and just wondering whether Euan is going to be 2 years old before Mum and Dad get to see him again. I can't believe they're hitting the numbers Mass saw at it's peak and they're not really doing anything about it. It's really scary for their healthcare system.

Daycare is reopening in July but we're not sure we want to take him there. We can't find a Nanny/sitter who also thinks social distancing is still a good idea. We're exhausted. We put him to bed at 7 and work for up to three more hours.

Luckily even on a grumpy day like today little man is still lovely. He has the silliest most infectious giggle and it's the best. He's pulling up but still not really moving. I don't think we've got long though! 9 months old in a week! Hasn't been held by a person other than Rob and I since March 6th, apart from a quick prod from the pediatrician at our 6 month visit.

Need to work out more. It helps.

Today there was a big turtle laying eggs on top of the soil dump pile. There are chipmunks everywhere and goslings in the pond. Euan is going to love it even more here next year! I stayed out walking slightly too long and he fell asleep. I haven't done much carrying sleepy eight month old as we're always home for naps - it's so lovely.
