Should call this my weekly freedom run! No stroller, no guilt I should be working! Did a new loop to connect the dog park, Mack Park and the graveyard - it was pretty good. Happy to be able to run up the stairs to Mack Park. Really really enjoyed this. Glad I did it - almost wimped out as Euan had his first bad night in ages. It was a tough bedtime (also the worst in ages) and I wonder if he sensed my stress? Glad I managed to do this today, feel better for it.

Freeletics 15:58 intensity: (3:34 @0) + (3:45 @1) + (3:39 @2) + (5:00 @3)
ahr:131 max:174

Sprints and press ups and burpees. I don't have much endurance (not a surprise) but the movements are feeling stronger and more natural.

Today sucked. Spent half the day on my phone to my boss about the back to work stuff. I couldn't face running, and shortened the yoga to the bare minimum needed to calm down.

Freeletics 19:36 intensity: (18:53 @0) + (43 @1)

This workout had stand ups! I was remembering standing in a field with Alex - did I teach myself to do them using inov terrain shoes with grip? I can kind of do them now but I have to cross my legs to get up. Maybe should try outside with shoes on! Brought me back to a very different time - a good one!

Running 12:20 intensity: (15 @0) + (3:00 @1) + (8:00 @2) + (1:05 @3) 2.02 km (6:06 / km) +9m 5:58 / km

Rob joined us for our stroller run so we both did a segment. Rob's long legs carry him so much faster! Euan enjoyed the downhills. It was fun to have company. Pushed the stroller up one of the steeper hills in the graveyard and felt good.

It has been a week of Day 8 exercises from Adriene and they've been calming and good. Planning for back to work for my techs has been really stressful this week.

Another lovely relaxing yoga session. Euan was up for the day at 5.30 today and I am a bit tired. It's a long time since he's done that - think the heat was a new and weird thing.

I ended up on kiddo duty all day and realized I hadn’t done the daily run when we went out for our late afternoon walk. I was wearing an almost sports bra and it was almost comfortable!

Really great relaxing yoga session. Didn’t want to do a longer one, but it went by in no time. Day eight of yoga camp ‘I Choose’ if anyone is interested.

Quick jaunt to the pond to count the turtles before morning nap, but there weren’t any because it was too chilly! Lots of chipmunks though. We saw all the flags in the cemetery and learned about Great Grandad in France on the way back.

Freeletics 19:54 intensity: (13:52 @0) + (2:55 @1) + (2:11 @2) + (56 @3)

So many crunches! They don’t feel wrong, I am pretty convinced everything is knitted together down there now, but it’s amazing how long 50 takes now, when I used to be able to blast 100 in just over a minute while barely breaking a sweat! Fun to establish a baseline. Freeletics is really good for these short blasts.

I was shattered today - guess a twenty minute run and workout is what counts for overdoing things these days! So just some wind down yoga. I went back to bed after feeding Euan this morning and slept till 8.50, which felt like an enormous treat.

Had to return my old iPhone back to Apple via a UPS dropbox. Weekends are good because you can exercise outside the house in naps! Unlike weekdays where one person is on their four hour concentration block and it's not fair to give them the monitor. So I ran to the UPS dropbox and back via the dog park. Despite the science saying it's extremely low risk to be outside as long as you give people you run past appropriate space, I'm running in a mask as everyone in our neighborhood is and I'm getting used to it. We have two confirmed cases on the street now so everyone is getting a bit antsy. I'd rather struggle a bit more with running and be seen as a good neighbor for now. Would run mask free first thing if I could, but boobs are too heavy for it and there's no way I'm getting up even earlier to pump. It is what it is right now, and I feel like I'm doing enough to stay sane and baseline healthy.

Freeletics 30:18 intensity: (13:26 @0) + (9:33 @1) + (4:20 @2) + (2:59 @3)
ahr:122 max:168

Had to sub out the workout as reverse lunges were surprisingly on the dicky knee. It's mostly been improving with stretching and careful placement up and down stairs.

My core feels like it's all cinching up together again, although I have to focus on doing it much more than I did previously. It's good! Actually amazing how much these tiny bits of exercise are helping.

Round our little circuit. I don't know if it's just the power of going out later in the day and thus being more warmed up, or just the little bit of practice I've had all week, but this felt like something I could increase to a reasonable volume. Still not sure where I'd go, but the cemetery is still pretty quiet in the morning pre-nap.

This was "meditation" you could do lying down. So basically just lying down.

I'm sure I could benefit from actual meditation but it's not high on my list of priorities for the limited time available!

How do you know if you’ve broken your toe, and if it only hurts when bending under pressure, does it matter?!? Not naming names but someone walked into the sofa leg very hard while carrying little man today. Someone. Yes :)

Stroller running! Very hard with a mask but I saw no one out, so might not wear it this early in the morning next time.

What's the optimal handlebar running height people? I feel like I got it almost right but not quite.

Note

Rob bought a computer game where you can drive around a very realistic Edinburgh and I spent my yoga time watching him drive around a fake Edinburgh. It’s very well done!

I walked a lot today but no specific exercise. I think little man may finally be getting teeth, he was grouchy for him (which is still luckily not very grouchy).

Yey, I worked hard enough that AP recognised this as Freeletics! Much better than the other day. My knee is improving with focus on alignment, and today during the squats jumps I remembered those sessions with Steven when I used to jump three feet up onto a platform and you couldn't hear me land. The landing is in the core, and that's what protects your joints. And my core is all out of whack post partum. So focussed on engaging the muscles the post partum PT taught me about whilst jumping, and the landing was pain free and felt light and springy. I enjoyed feeling a little athletic again. My hips and hamstrings are still too tight for one legged hip raises though, they're going to take a bit of work.

Even when I really don't want to do yoga I always feel better, even if it's just a 7 minute boost.

Had a bad evening yesterday with anxiety, first in a while. Worried about opening up when we haven't met any bench marks for managing the disease going forwards. Unclear as to why people seem to think we're done when this is just the first wave of many potential waves until we have a real treatment/vaccine. And incensed that the complete numbskull in the White House is doing worse than nothing. He's making it worse without a doubt now.

November feels like a long way away.

Freeletics strength session. It's amazing how my flexibility increases within a session.

Had a lovely weekend not thinking about working and then Monday felt like a grind. Euan had a bad second nap and so we cancelled work and went for a longish walk - I had him in the front carrier as Rob's back is sore. It was hard work but not as difficult as last time, must have got the positioning better. It's time to find the instructions for switching it to the back now walks are an awake activity and not an asleep one!
