Hill Walking 2:30:00 [1]

More walking, but at least in the proper hills this time. I took Rob's flatmate Emily to the Trossachs, and we went up Ben A'an, a small but steep hill just off the Trossachs map. Emily is a total legend and there were many many giggles, and again it was fantastic just to be out and about, though the twinge of frustration was still there when some guy in lycra jogged past us on the way up. Stunning day again, photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/faintgirl/sets/721576...

Note

Healing still doesn't seem to be going anywhere so I am going to try and see the Doc tomorrow for some antibiotics in case there's a bit of an infection. I desperately want to run in Italy next week and it will be a month by then, so I'm keeping everything crossed.

Rubbish walking 1:00:00 [1]

An hour or so of Caernethy spectating with Jess - up onto the ridge and along and some fun scree almost running down the far side. So glad I made it out on such a glorious day, felt really sad not to be running though. Looked like an awesome day for the course. Photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/faintgirl/sets/721576...

Note
(rest day)

I am soooooooooooo bored! I have watched more TV in the last 2.5 weeks than in the whole of last year combined, if you take out the three days or so that were required for the Series 3 Lost Marathon. This TV watching however has thus far not included Hollyoaks, as Rob is an unbeliever (blasphemy), until yesterday when I took time out from said boy and treated myself to a lovely risotto (a whole glass of white wine went in and it was beautiful!) and a double episode of TV's "finest" soap opera. I went very happy to see that Nancy has finally left mental Jake, so that her and Sarah can be best mates again and have arguments that end in "At least I'm not wearing my dead sister's wedding ring and engaged to her ex husband," "Well at least my boyfriend didn't sleep with my MOTHER." Happy times. Things in the lab are actually maybe starting to progress so I might have something resembling the start of a thesis by June or so. My supervisor told me he was unimpressed with my decision to potentially be running at WOC instead of going to the FENS neuroscience conference. I laughed because I thought he was joking and then realised he wasn't. Oops. So then I said I might not get selected and if I don't I promise to go to FENS. And he was slightly more pleased. I decided not to tell him about going to Italy a week tomorrow. Maybe he'll just not notice my absence. Ooops. Rob is still lovely even is he is going on a boy's weekend to Amsterdam this weekend (nice), and he does a very good line in battered lemon sole and crisply fried veg. Mmm. Mmm. I keep looking across the room at him in social situations and thinking that I am a lucky lady. He looks so cute in a tank top. I managed to also wear a tank top when I turned up at the party last night, so we were all his and hers which was definitely not cool. This weekend I am going to cheer people on at running up hills whilst most definitely not running up them myself, then I am going to pretend I'm posh and intellectual whilst drinking cocktails with Rob's girlfriends. Argh.

Nobody wanted to hear any of that, but I have four hours until my incubations are finished and very little to do in them as my bonkers laptop has decided it doesn't like PDFs anymore. Useful. Very useful.

Note

My recovery doesn't seem to be progressing as well as I would like so I am being cautious and staying off training until I go to Italy for MOC. It's frustrating but a couple of weeks off now is better than this dragging on and on and me not being able to run through a marsh before July! Back to the DVDs - luckily Rob and I just rediscovered The I.T. Crowd.
