| Event: GBR WOC Selection Races (Middle and Sprint) | ||
| Long run 2:01:09 [4]14.57 mi (8:18 / mi) | ||
| ahr:173 max:187 rhr:48 shoes: Blue Saucony Grid | ||
| Aww man, I hate running before a decent breakfast! Nonetheless I managed a pretty decent long run this morning, though the miles around 9-10 were real killers. Stomach is not much of a fun of the huge amount of stodge we're being fed, but I can't actually get to a shop to do anything about it! Had to get up at 6 today to get the run in before sessions started, and only just finished now at 10pm. Whew. A fox just stood a metre away from me today and looked at me like I had a problem. It was weird. | ||
| Stretching 10:00 [0] | ||
| 10 minutes of stretching followed by a rudimentary ice in the sea. Dunno which of the two it was that helped, but I can actually walk this evening, unlike the last time I ran this distance! The push to 16 miles is going to be tough... | ||
Thursday Jun 5 | ||
| Running 32:16 [4]4.08 mi (7:54 / mi) | ||
| ahr:176 max:191 shoes: Blue Saucony Grid | ||
| Supposed to be an easy run but I hate running first thing in the morning and things were really humid, so it felt a lot harder than it should have done. Being out running before 7am sucks big time. Plus all the roads round here are private so it's main road or nothing. And there's so much forest and stuff you're not allowed near. Boo boo boo. | ||
| Circuits 18:53 [2] | ||
| ahr:135 max:169 shoes: Blue Saucony Grid | ||
| Can't believe how high my heart rate went for this little mini circuit - it is hot but maybe there is something actually wrong with me? No actual symptoms though, just feeling rubbish. No weights so just did:
3 x super sets of: 20 crunches 20 obliques 20 russian twists 6 x 10 press ups, finaly set plyometric to failure 3 x 20 tricep dips on the steps | ||

Tuesday Jun 3 | ||
| Note | ||
| (rest day) | ||
| Another day of too much travelling. Finally arrived in Long Island and so tired I just went for a stroll around the grounds. The programme for the week is pretty intense, so not sure how much I'll be able to do. We shall see! | ||

Monday Jun 2 | ||
| Note | ||
| (rest day) | ||
| Today I saw the sights of Boston and by the end was all sore throaty. headachey and sneezing everywhere. Have bought hayfever stuff to see if it's that...but if I'm going to get ill, I wish it would just go ahead and do it! | ||
Sunday Jun 1 | ||
| Hill Walking 3:08:58 [1] | ||
| ahr:93 max:141 | ||
| No running today but a walk up Mount Monadhnock in New Hampshire. Pretty steep way up and amazing views from the top - fantastic day! | ||

Saturday May 31 | ||
| Recovery 55:02 [2]6.0 mi (9:10 / mi) | ||
| ahr:158 max:182 shoes: Blue Saucony Grid | ||
| Easy run around the Callaghan State Park just at the end of Anne and Rog's lovely road in the suburbs. Turned my ankle halfway which was sore for a few mins, and found an overgrown tennis court at the top of the hill. This place is beautiful, less than a minute from there house and so much forest to run further out to. Amazing. | ||
| Stretching 10:00 [0] | ||
| Inspired by Nixon's comment, and my slightly rubbish knee of late, I thought it would be a good idea to at least try to stretch properly, as opposed to token efforts. | ||
