Lovely girlie run in the Pentlands. Set off with Lorna, Ann, Helen and Kat, and went up Turnhouse then Carnethy from Flotterstone. The wind on the top if Turnhouse was insane! I then peeled off with Kate and Helen to do Scald Law, and we then just came back the same way. The final time up Turnhouse was a real struggle and by the time we hit the car park I was happy not to have to run any further! Fantastic to be out.

Into the lab after a lovely lunch with the Kitchin clan - was going to do lots but am shattered so am just steeling myself up to do the essential cell culture stuff, then going home.

Woke up early to get into the lab, feeling inspired. Read a few pages of my Christopher Brookmyre with breakfast, which was an error as two hours later I was still reading Christophe Brookmyre. Oops. But then I finished and realised it was a really gorgeous sunny day outside, so I ran to work via Morningside and Craiglockhart, with 20 mins of 90 x 30s after a ten minute warm up. These felt hard and were mostly uphill. The rest of the run to work felt hard, but I was wearing a pretty heavy bag full of my lunch. I'm now sitting at work with the sun streaming through the window and not feeling motivated to aggravate my RSI one jot. Oh well! A very enjoyable morning!

Into the lab.

After a morning of a huge amount of pipetting, my right hand was resembling an immovable claw, and Ellen and I decided to escape for a bit of sunshine before I attempted my PDE assay for the day. (If I do one I day, I will be finished in under a month. So I must do at least one every day, RSI or no RSI....grrr). I introduced Ellen to the short loop around the back of the hospital, the Roseburn path and the Water of Leith. It was sunny and warm, and now I don't want to do the PDE assay! Booo!

To the forum.

Running 29:46 intensity: (26:39 @3) + (3:07 @5) 5.8 km (5:08 / km)
ahr:164 max:194 shoes: 09 Saucony Grid

Evening run with Rob, ran past Harie intervals and felt a bit inspired, so when he popped into his flat did a teeny tiny intervals session around his block - about 230m fast pace with about 80m recovery, all efforts slightly uphill. 46, 47, 47, 47. My legs still move quite fast but my chest was bursting after even these short efforts! It was pretty funny. Rob is running pretty well now, it's cool.
