Rob joined me for the first half of my run, and then I ran into the lab to reunite the mouseys. We walked for a minute or so near the end. It was stuffy out there today, but I am getting way better at running in it. Happy to get out after a very lazy day sorting out admin stuff at home (stupid visa stuff - thought it looks like I may not have to leave the country to do it - fingers crossed!).

Last night I was doubting my ability to do this session, what with the early start required and the DOMS. But I jumped straight out of bed and did the business, and it was great. Warm up, three "brisk" miles, then warm down. Brisk bits didn't feel light and easy but did feel strong, and there was a lot of uphill. The view from the top of East Rock was stunning, and it was a beautiful clear morning. Lots of other runners, including one young guy coughing like crazy that made me annoyed.

Wow, it's a long time since I gave myself DOMS from trying to run fast! Enjoyed getting out tonight but the legs were achey achey. Saw another ridiculously friendly deer in the cool water garden bit. They are pretty fearless.

Rob had an 8am meeting this morning (ha ha!) so there was double impetus to get out of bed. Made it to the track, and did last week's intervals session properly.

I no longer have any speed in my legs. Not surprising, as I've not done any speed work, but still, it was a bit of a shock. This was a really, really hard session. 8 x 400m full pace, walk 200m recovery - had the Garmin session on my wrist so I have no idea what my times were...just about to find out...

... the good news is that despite having no watch counting along I'm consistent! The bad news is I'm really slow! The training plan has a few of these sessions in the 12 weeks, so it'll be interesting to see if I can build up some more speed.

Not down hearted by this at all - it'll be good to have something to work on. Really happy to have got out to do the session.

This morning I was a big useless fail. And we have a Zipcar booked to do things at 6pm tonight, so today is going to be a big fail.

I want to take a vacation until my Advisor leaves. I have no motivation to go to work, or get up in the morning.

Seven miles steady but hilly. Glorious morning, warm but not yet humid, loads of animals out and about, and fantastic sunshine. Really enjoyed being outside, and body felt great for the rest. Mmm.
