Note
(rest day)

Accidentally slept all the way through my free time today, then spent the rest of the day drinking mulled wine and doing jigsaws with my lot and Rob's parents at their place. That's what holidays are for!

Running 34:18 intensity: (1:00 @1) + (7:48 @2) + (21:46 @3) + (3:44 @4) 5.25 km (6:32 / km) +172m 5:37 / km
ahr:162 max:180

I had forgotten what it was like to run constantly in 3 inches of squishy mud. The answer is pretty fun, but soggy. Lots of dog walkers out today to my surprise, as it was a rotten day. Many stops for overexcited animals. Bumped into Verity and Jim at the end and had a quick chat.

Cross Fit 10:31 intensity: (30 @0) + (6:07 @1) + (3:46 @2) + (8 @3)
ahr:135 max:157

3 x 2.30 (1.30) AMRAP of 10 squats, 10 sit ups, 10 press ups. This is not as much fun as actual classes.

ahr:168 max:184 shoes: Darth Vader sauconys

Lovely run round St Ives. It's not changed much, although they have cleared some rhododendrons. Great to get the legs moving after a week of work and travelling.

Cross Fit 9:48 intensity: (36 @1) + (1:50 @2) + (4:49 @3) + (2:33 @4) 0.19 km (51:51 / km) +5m 45:48 / km
ahr:164 max:180

"The apocalypse" body weight work out. Shuttle runs, broad jumps, sit ups, press ups, squats, pretend skipping and some more bonus press ups for good measure. You can tell it's being a while.

Is it wrong that I'm ridiculously excited about going to Sainsburys?

Eeeeee home! Walked from Camden to the Embassy in the pouring rain, and got breakfast at the Honest Sausage in the middle of Regents Park - lovely surprise. Sausages are on my top ten missed foods list, and pretty near the top at that. The Embassy was a 3 and a half hour wait this time, and yet again my interview took less than one minute. But it's all approved and should hopefully be back in time. Wandered back via Vodafone to get a Sim card, and the guy in the shop was really great and made me smile. Then walked back from King's Cross and got totally soaked by a manic white van man, and had to have my second shower of the day. Then headed out with Mhairi to meet Helen and Cerys and Ben and had a wonderful evening of chat and giggles. It's been way too long. It's so good to be back!

Talk in New York done, grants both almost done. House is a disaster zone mess, no clean clothes, and will be leaving to JFK on the last train tonight. Go!
