We went State Parking today! I have been a bloated lump all week and in a lot of pain from places I really shouldn't be. Apparently my cycle is all out of whack. Bah. But today it felt a bit better and we headed out to Mattatuck State Forest, and did a nice little loop running the flats and downs and walking the ups, while planning the trip to California. It was really nice, and the Leatherman's Cave up there is really cool. My chest was very tight the whole time - guess it's allergy time. But my head very much appreciated the trip out.

Note

I got to lecture today after working from 8am and realised I was utterly worn out. Taught at 7pm and we played with Lego. Great way to end the module!

Cycling 1:10:00 [1]

Cycling commute. Got a bit mucky on the way home in the drizzle.

Running 50:37 intensity: (4:41 @0) + (3:14 @1) + (7:05 @2) + (28:20 @3) + (7:17 @4) 7.88 km (6:25 / km) +47m 6:14 / km

Got home later than expected but felt okay (the joy of bringing enough snacks to work!) and went out to retry the 5 x 200 from last week. It felt much better today, and I also found out that someone has marked 200s (although they may be a teensy bit short) along the canal trail, so used those instead of constantly looking at my watch. Much more consistent this week, much less feeling like I was dying, although it still takes a lot more air than it should. Still 42-43 seconds is okay, and you've got to start somewhere.

The problem with not doing anything all weekend is by Sunday night I'm so unsleepy I don't sleep. Then along comes Monday morning and bam. This morning I got up, read some papers, then decided I couldn't face a couple of miles on the roads, so drove to the top end of East Rock. It's so much nicer there! Little shuffle, ideal temperature, woods still wide open. Lovely.

Cross Fit 1:11:57 intensity: (52:05 @0) + (6:48 @1) + (5:04 @2) + (6:11 @3) + (1:49 @4) 0.5 km (2:23:54 / km) +3m 2:19:43 / km

Whooo! Normal Cross Fit workout. It felt REAALLYYY good to push and pull some (quite) heavy things around. Started out with some walking lunges and good mornings, then a WOD of cleans and sled pushes. It's been a while since I've cleaned, but 6 x 65# felt surprisingly easy. Most fun I've had exercising in a long time.

My watch takes a split pretty much every time I do a clean, so I get this nice success noise every time. :)
