EPIC! Today I went to explore the next State Park, and the snow there was knee deep fine powder. The first thirty mins there were some slightly less deep snowshoe tracks, but the next fourty minutes was pure, virgin snow. It was seriously hard to move, and I managed to walk/jog up and down some serious hills. Glorious weather, warm on the top half, but by the time I finally popped out in the access road which some people had driven in pick ups, my legs were frozen. They warmed up super quickly as the two miles back to the car went a lot faster!

I really should a) buy some skiis, b) learn to move on them.

Yup, this was just over my knees.

Ran into work and man, were my legs tired. Not too much snow though!

Note

Last night I massively failed at sleep (as in, none till 7 in the morning), and so I decided it would not be prudent to train.

Strength 30:00 [1]

Snow shovelling! Pretty poor turn out here to the extent that I would definitely be going to work if we hadn't specifically been told not to do any lab work.

I can tell I don't do enough strength at the moment. I ca't quite believed we shovelled all day two years ago!

Tempo run 55:47 intensity: (28 @0) + (1:10 @1) + (13:35 @2) + (29:31 @3) + (11:03 @4) 8.42 km (6:37 / km) +90m 6:17 / km

Attempt at today's tempo session. It was pretty decent, but not quite hard enough on the lungs - tougher on the not quite so strong legs. Really great to be out in the powdery snow and the sunset was gorgeous.

HR jog into East Rock...thought maybe I should have done tempo today instead, but given easy is definitely not easy in the snow, stuck to the plan.
