Note
(rest day)

Despite feeling better by the end of Saturday I completely failed to sleep and so I sat out today in favour of sorting out the garden with Rob. It was lovely.

Orienteering 59:40 intensity: (1:54 @0) + (1:10 @1) + (2:52 @2) + (25:42 @3) + (25:56 @4) + (2:06 @5) 6.61 km (9:02 / km) +200m 7:50 / km
ahr:169 max:193 shoes: Integrators 5000

Jogging around the O'tervals at Mountain Lakes as I still felt off. My jogging pace is stronger than it has been in a long time, so this was more fun than it might have been. My HR was too high, definitely a little off colour.
2 PM

Orienteering 51:53 intensity: (16 @0) + (32 @1) + (5:35 @2) + (42:08 @3) + (3:22 @4) 5.18 km (10:01 / km) +141m 8:49 / km
ahr:161 max:177 shoes: Integrators 5000

Jogging around the flow course at Westmoreland. Lovely area in places, a bit overgrown in others. Started to feel physically better towards the end, like the illness fuzz had lifted.

Running 11:18 intensity: (2:34 @2) + (7:30 @3) + (1:14 @4) 1.36 km (8:20 / km) +79m 6:27 / km
ahr:159 max:182 shoes: Integrators 5000

Very easy jog back. HR still high I guess.

Note

You know sometimes you feel physically awesome the day before you wake up actually sick? Hmmm.

Intervals 36:38 intensity: (35 @0) + (1:21 @1) + (3:16 @2) + (21:58 @3) + (7:49 @4) + (1:39 @5) 5.68 km (6:27 / km) +8m 6:24 / km
ahr:164 max:200 shoes: Shiny red Sauconys

Today I ran the fastest I have run in years. The same interval set as last time, but on the indoor track as I still have two more weeks of membership remaining. It's much better to run on a track with a set goal and no traffic, then you can focus on form and striding out. I surprised myself by actually enjoying this.

39, 41
1.25
38, 38

I can add an extra interval now.

Running 10:46 intensity: (16 @0) + (21 @1) + (52 @2) + (2:01 @3) + (4:56 @4) + (2:20 @5) 1.87 km (5:46 / km)
ahr:176 max:199 shoes: Shiny red Sauconys

The car needed longer than we had planned (a whole 1.5 days!) in the shop, so I had to go pick Rob up. Except I left my glasses in our car, so I ran to the Zipcars closest to Veronica's house, borrowed her glasses (we have an identical prescription!) and then went to get Rob. Drove a few blocks without glasses which I felt okay about as I could see more without mine from out of the lab window than Dan can see with his driving legal glasses. Slightly worrying.

This sudden turn of "speed" through the middle of Yale Commencement did not feel good.
11 AM

Recovery 43:06 intensity: (10:15 @0) + (7:07 @1) + (19:16 @2) + (6:28 @3) 5.04 km (8:34 / km) +38m 8:15 / km
ahr:133 max:158 shoes: Shiny red Sauconys

Then thought I would recovery run back from the Zipcar so I wouldn't wimp out today. Felt fine. Joe Biden popped in the say hello right at the end, which was pretty exciting.
7 PM

Cross Fit 33:23 intensity: (9:42 @0) + (14 @1) + (4:59 @2) + (17:38 @3) + (50 @4)
ahr:142 max:176

The Freeletics after walking home with Rob.
