I've worked way too hard this week and my awesome training plan from Alex has therefore been neglected. Got home today, tired at 6, and went for a shuffle to ease up a bit. It actually felt really good, I was happy to get out. Wonder how much snow we're going to get tomorrow?

Note

I had another bad brain day today.

Running 20:07 intensity: (22 @0) + (13 @1) + (1:15 @2) + (17:17 @3) + (1:00 @4) 3.64 km (5:31 / km) +2m 5:31 / km

Alex's plan said an easy aerobic run with 4 x 20 seconds strides. I did 8 sets of strides because it was cold. 20s is a long time for strides.

Was going to do Freeletics when I got home but instead Farmer carried all our groceries 1.5 miles because Rob had the car and his boss was running 90 minutes late with meetings. Shoulders way too tired for Venus now.

Pretty annoyed about that. Left work at 5.45, not going to eat dinner till 9. Boo. It is smelling delicious though.

Edit: thought my easy aerobic speed was getting faster and was happy, but looking at my GPS trace Garmin was just drunk.

Note

There are few things I like less than having a "conversation" with someone who has already decided the outcome before they call you.

Finally though I know that team trials will not be where I wanted, and can move forward with it.

Orienteering 17:18 intensity: (18 @0) + (5 @1) + (9 @2) + (5:08 @3) + (11:38 @4) 2.18 km (7:57 / km) +57m 7:02 / km

Ran course 1 first, and was feeling the climbers in my butt the whole way! Was moving okay, but not fast. Couldn't get the scale right at first and so hesitated way too early on the way to number 3. Then was very confused most of the way to number 5, I really wanted to go further to the right the whole way. Missed the right hill at number 7, didn't waste much. After that it was all good.

Orienteering 16:11 intensity: (6 @0) + (7 @1) + (11 @2) + (1:10 @3) + (14:37 @4) 2.02 km (8:00 / km) +54m 7:04 / km

Better for this one, no big doozies and mostly on the line. Struggling physically - I've had a sore throat every night and this morning the back of my throat was a bit swollen. Resting HR fine though, and I think it's just a bit of snot in my head, nothing worse. Guess I will find out tomorrow!

Really, really, really good to be out in the woods. Two short courses was perfect for my lack of practice.

Running 33:04 intensity: (27 @0) + (33 @1) + (5:03 @2) + (27:01 @3) 5.71 km (5:47 / km) +62m 5:29 / km
ahr:153 max:166 shoes: Neon sauconys

Took the easy morning doing nothing that I desperately needed, then went for a run just before dark.

Cross Fit 26:47 intensity: (11:20 @0) + (5:49 @1) + (6:10 @2) + (3:28 @3) 0.17 km (2:37:33 / km) +2m 2:28:48 / km
ahr:121 max:157

Started Kentauros, but after the first two exercises realised I would never make it through, so skipped it to next week and got standard Nemesis instead, which was hard but doable. Proper climbers till the end.
